Will a Dumpster Damage My Driveway?
Any heavy container or vehicle has the potential to damage a surface if site conditions, loading, or placement are unsuitable. We take care when delivering and placing our dumpsters, but no dumpster company can responsibly promise that property damage is impossible.
A stable, level placement area and proper loading help reduce the risk.
A firm, stable and reasonably level location is preferred.
Keep vehicles and obstacles away from the delivery area.
Distribute heavy material throughout the container.
Stay within loading and weight requirements.
Loading & Pickup Questions
How high can I load the dumpster?
All material must remain safely below the top edge and within the permitted fill level. Material cannot stick above the container or create an unsafe load.
Should I bag lightweight materials?
Yes. Loose lightweight material can blow out during transportation. Bagging lighter materials and placing them beneath heavier debris helps keep the load secure.
Can I put liquids in the dumpster?
No. Do not place paint, fuel, solvents, or other hazardous liquids into the dumpster. Call us if you’re unsure about a particular material.
What happens if it rains?
Roll-off dumpsters are not watertight. Rainwater may enter the container and may drain from openings depending on the slope and placement of the dumpster.
What should I do when I’m finished early?
Call us at 865-214-1592 and let us know the dumpster is ready. We’ll work on getting your pickup scheduled.
Can you guarantee same-day delivery or pickup?
Availability depends on our schedule, location, inventory, disposal facility timing, traffic, weather, and other operating conditions. Call us for the best available scheduling information.

Dumpster Rental Best Practices
A little planning before delivery can make your dumpster rental easier from start to finish.
Choose the Placement Area
Pick a firm, level location with enough room for delivery, loading, and pickup.
Keep Access Clear
Move vehicles, trailers, equipment, and obstacles before scheduled delivery or pickup.
Load Smart
Spread heavy material throughout the dumpster rather than concentrating all the weight in one area.
Keep Debris Below the Top
Do not allow debris to extend above the permitted loading level or outside the container.
Ask Before Loading Questionable Items
If you’re unsure whether an item is allowed, call 865-214-1592 before loading it.

When the job is complete, contact Thortex so we can work on scheduling your pickup.
